Owen Racer is an award-winning multimedia journalist based in New York City. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, NPR, and Bloomberg, among others. His ongoing work includes long-form documentation of intergenerational change in Latin America’s coffee industry. He’s spent time as a policy reporter on Capitol Hill and covering the presidential campaigns of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. He’s produced audio stories for NPR stations such as WVXU and WHYY and wrote for a year about how the Biden Administration’s policies were impacting Russia’s war in Ukraine. He frequently writes about the U.S. mental health care system and previously reported from Louisiana, Colorado, and Ohio. He has a master’s degree in journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.
